Background
A dock management system (DMS) must be established to control and manage the warehousing, loading, and unloading process of parcels in Daejeon Mega Hub, the largest logistics center in Korea, with a total floor area of 148,230 m², or the size of 21 soccer fields. It has a capacity of handling 120,000 items per hour, with four floors above ground.
Details
The project built a smart DMS to adjust the warehousing time during peak hours when the volume is high, and to shorten vehicle waiting time while informing drivers of possible warehousing time in advance every 30 minutes. It also established a scheduling service that allows the next worker to prepare in advance at the dock, where products are loaded and unloaded. The remaining load in the truck can be identified by using image recognition AI.
