Background
The servicing and maintenance of railway vehicles had a strong, field-centered after-maintenance nature. However, with the recent development of ICT technology, the maintenance paradigm for railway vehicles has changed to data-based, condition-based maintenance (CBM) from time-based maintenance (TBM). The monitoring system here is a RAM-based railway vehicle maintenance monitoring system that collects data, such as operation status, maintenance inspection, and failure information, in the railway vehicle operation and failure management through big data technology, before converting it into a 3D digital twin, thus providing a visualized, real-time control environment.
Details
It is a RAM-based monitoring system applied to the Korean Train Control System (KTCS-2) pilot project that is linked to the railway wireless communication system (LTE-R), a 4th generation wireless communication technology. It is selected and carried out as a "consumer-suggested innovation project" promoted by the Public Procurement Service. The system is currently in pilot operation in the Iksan-Yeosu Expo section of the Jeolla Line.
