Taiwan Ministry of Finance – Integrated Smart Energy Management Solution for Data Centers
Background
The plans for achieving Taiwan's carbon neutrality are actively underway, regardless of the contributions of the government or private sector. The government is exerting efforts to increase energy use efficiency, starting with facilities that consume excessive energy. One of its main targets is data centers with high power consumption. With the WeMB solutions, the government is managing the energy use of various facilities and IT infrastructure in the data centers efficiently to achieve energy savings and further achieve carbon neutrality.
Details
Taiwan's Ministry of Finance introduced the WeMB solutions to manage energy use smartly in government-run data centers. The solution closely analyzes the energy use of various facilities, including power facilities and air conditioning facilities. It also optimizes the energy use of various facilities while maintaining the performance of IT infrastructure by analyzing the impact between facilities from an integrated perspective. The 3D digital-based WeMB solution informs the users quickly of the spatial location of the asset even in the event of a failure, allowing them to respond quickly and accurately. In the future, the monitoring scope will also include the IT infrastructure area, and will be expanded into an integrated monitoring platform for IT infrastructure and facilities.
